Just bought a home
Rekey every exterior door so old keys can't open them.
From a quick rekey on a freshly closed home to a deadbolt upgrade on a back door that never quite felt right, we handle the home security work that actually moves the needle.
Most home security comes down to a few unglamorous fundamentals: a properly installed deadbolt, locks that match keys you actually control, and hardware that holds up to daily use. We handle all of that for homes and apartments across Rincon, Springfield, Guyton, Port Wentworth, and Pooler. We don't push you toward the most expensive product on the truck - we install what fits your door and your routine.
Residential work is broader than most people expect. Rekeying after a move-in or a roommate change is one of the most common reasons we get called. So is house-lockout service when a key is missing, broken, or locked inside. Beyond that, we install deadbolts, replace tired hardware, set up keypad and smart locks, and handle smaller jobs like mailbox locks and file cabinets that nobody else seems to want to deal with.
This is the question we get asked most. The short version: if your existing locks are in good shape and you just want different keys to work in them (a move-in, a lost key, a roommate turnover), rekeying is faster and more cost-effective. If a lock is damaged, badly worn, or you want to upgrade to a different grade or style, replacement makes sense. Often it's a mix - rekey the working locks, replace the one weak deadbolt. We'll walk you through the options without overselling.
A grade-3 builder-grade deadbolt with a flimsy strike plate isn't really keeping anyone out. Most break-ins still happen through the front door, and most of those succeed because the latch screws are short and the strike plate is barely attached. When we install a deadbolt, we use a long-screw strike plate that anchors into the framing - not just the door jamb trim. That single change does more for the door's security than swapping a brand of lock.
Smart locks are a great fit for some homes and a hassle for others. They make sense when you're already coordinating contractors, cleaners, or family members coming and going at different times - assigning and revoking codes is much easier than collecting keys. They make less sense when nobody in the house wants to think about firmware updates. We'll talk through whether a smart lock fits your routine and install one that uses standard hardware so it can be serviced later.
